As if Nathan's news could get worse, I think it has.

Well, we went back to Dr. Nemeth today to check on his arm and it's healing well. Dr. Nemeth then looked again at his leg X rays and found the problem of his knees not fully extending.

It's not what we all thought. It's not tight ligaments. It's the excessive bone growth with this condition. His knees are not normal at all. Instead of the bones allowing full range of motion, once Nathan extends his leg the bones stop them from the full leg straigtening that you and I all have. The bones literally are like brakes. They only allow him to straighten his leg so far.

So instead of an easy, quick surgery we were told it's gonna have to go something like this...

Open up his legs, break each of them just above the knee cap and shave the bone and reset it in a different spot to allow them to let his legs fully extend. Bone surgery. The most painful surgery there is.

The surgery won't be for about a year, but even still, this is worse news than his arm being broken to us. Now we know what hell it is and we have to live it all over again with both legs in full casts when our baby should be walking.
