Where Were You On November 22, 1963~Psyguy

So where were you on November 22, 1963 especially around 1 PM when the news broke that President John F. Kennedy was pronounced dead.

Forty-five years ago, on Nov. 22, 1963, at exactly 12:30 p.m., the course of American history was forever changed when shots rang out in Dealey Plaza on the western edge of downtown Dallas. President John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States, was struck multiple times as he rode in a motorcade through the city along with his wife, Jackie.

Kennedy died as a result of his wounds, and a historic presidency died along with him. JFK was the youngest person ever elected president, the first and only Roman Catholic, and the fourth to die from an assassin's bullet. Oswald, a 24-year-old worker at the Texas Schoolbook Depository, was arrested the day Kennedy was killed and charged with killing Kennedy and a policeman, J.D. Tippit. Oswald himself was killed two days later when he was shot on national television in the basement of the Dallas police headquarters by Jack Ruby, a Dallas nightclub owner with suspected ties to organized crime. Oswald denied involvement in Kennedy and Tippit's deaths to the end.

Even the federal government cannot make up its mind. In 1964, the Warren Commission, which was assigned the duty of investigating the assassination by President Lyndon Johnson, concluded that Oswald was the lone assassin. In 1979, the House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded that there was a probable conspiracy and more than one gunman. http://www.wlwt.com/news/18028929/detail.html

Date: 11/21/2008 7:33:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63026    I remember reading a book on him back in 1999, and it was really fascinating. His short legacy is still important to this country, and sadly Caroline is the only one left. But I know she's got kids, who are almost in their early 20's and late teens.
Date: 11/21/2008 7:34:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63026    Caroline being the only one left out of our Camelot, not the only kennedy left.

Date: 11/21/2008 7:47:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63026    It is sad that alot of tradegy happened to this family...Teddy seemed to be a lucky one, and hopefully Caroline will live into her 70's.
Date: 11/21/2008 7:49:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 63026    I was in school on 9-11-01, and I bet it was just like that, being somber and all talk on the National Tradegy.

Date: 11/21/2008 8:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 50864    In the kitchen of the old apt. I used to live in with my Grandma (she died in 1968) I still miss her so much. In her loving eyes I was beautiful smart and just wonderful. My Daddy (he died in 1981 was fixing an antenae for our new COLOR TV) I miss him so much now he was my rock. I remember hearing that awful news on a small blue and white transistor radio. My Grandma yelled up at my Daddy on the they shot Kennedy, he thought she said they shot my Uncle Fred.
Date: 11/21/2008 8:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 63241    I was in the first grade. I remember walking into the house and hearing my mom crying in the living room. I was shocked and upset to see her like that because I don't remember ever seeing her cry before that day. I was upset because she was upset; I was too young to understand what a President is.
Date: 11/21/2008 11:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 62606    I wasn't born yet!

Date: 11/22/2008 2:18:00 AM  From Authorid: 3835    Many find it hard to believe me, because I was 3 years old. My mother was ironing clothes in the livingroom and was talking to my aunt on the phone about it, as it was being broadcast on TV. When I was in my 20's I asked my mom one day if she recalled that day and she was not only shocked, but added she did remember that day when it happened, but reminded me I was only 3 years old and how I could possibly remember something like that.

That was the same day I also said we had a little white pomeranian dog and I could not recall the name. She told me I was almost 3 and the dog's name was Popcorn.. she nearly fainted that I can recall things so far back into my early childhood days.. always been something I could do rather easily and I thought everyone could do that kind of thing.

So, that is where I was on that date. I can even tell you what I was wearing also, and about a month later after asking my Mother these two things, she had produced two pictures of me, one.. at the TV while that broadcast was on, and two.. a picture of me reaching out for Popcorn as she walked by, and I was wearing the same thing I had mentioned to her.

Date: 11/22/2008 2:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 3835    I should also add the pictures were in black and white, yet the designs that I mentioned were visible (-:
Date: 11/22/2008 7:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 4144    that was 8 months before i was born. guess i was napping!
Date: 11/22/2008 7:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 15362    I was in band class. Remember what I was wearing-pink dress with cream color shoes. Also remember my mother sit in front of the TV all week-end watching ever report that came on. I was watching with my mother when Ruby made his famous shot in the basement of the jail where Oswald was being lead out to a car. Even now, I can close my eyes and see that tv shot in my mind. It is a time that I could never forget.
Date: 11/22/2008 8:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 26363    Wasn't quite conceived yet, LOL Just a wee bit before my time.
